I’m at my best when I’m able to empower others through my own work. This is the spirit that originally drew me to the classroom and that guides my work to this day. Whether it’s sharing the tips and tricks of design thinking with aspiring innovators, or providing a platform and space for local entrepreneurs to make much needed connections, I seek opportunities to support the efforts of those around me. Every day I meet driven and inspiring professionals and entrepreneurs who believe in the future of Miami; I’m determined to support them on their journey to bring their visions to life.

What I’ve been up to

During summer 2018 I launched and managed the pilot Miami EdTech SIEL cohort (seen above) with the support of Teach For America and the Knight Foundation. The SIEL (Social Innovation & Entrepreneurial Leadership) Incubator is a 6 week program designed to share the basics of product/program development with educators in Miami-Dade County. The idea at the heart of the program is simple: Teachers are some of the best voices to solve the problems facing education because of how close they are to the student experience. Empowering them with the skill set of an entrepreneur would allow them to create and share scalable solutions to some of the trickiest problems facing schools in Miami.

I’ve been contributing as a part time organizer and host of Product Hunt South Florida’s Pitch and Sips events since October 2018. The spirit of the Pitch and Sips event series is to provide local entrepreneurs with a platform to pitch their innovative products while fostering high value connections with local thought leaders and early adopters.
